Hear from Neil and Carol and their experience with us. We worked through the whole EQC process with them and completed their earthquake repairs.
“Our house sustained damage in the Christchurch earthquakes. Although assessed as below cap, EQC chose not to do the repairs. Maiden Group were recommended to us. From the first meeting with Stu Gordon, Murray James and Bob Tidd, we came away with a sense of confidence that we had been well advised.
We live in Dunedin so the repair process could have been tricky for us.
We are pleased to say that at all stages, we were kept fully informed of progress, told of difficulties that emerged as work progressed and given sound advice as to what action was suggested. Progress photographs were regularly supplied, and contact by phone and email was ongoing. At times, hidden damage caused by the earthquakes was uncovered. Photographs were taken and EQC given information leading to their viewing the situation and increasing the payout to cover it.
In the initial stages when contract insurance needed to be arranged we had difficulty getting an appropriate policy. Murray stepped in, and suddenly all was well. Bob became such a constant in our life that we became firm friends. His knowledge and expertise is unparalleled, and his kindness and understanding in some stressful moments will never be forgotten.
The work was completed to a high standard, and the house has never been better. Bob, as the Design and Compliance Manager, and Graham Ryken, as Project Manager were meticulous in ensuring every detail was thoroughly checked to the standard they would have wanted for their own homes.
We unhesitatingly commend all the staff of Maiden Group who were involved in the repairs to our house. We believe this is a firm operating to high ethical standards with a clear understanding that they are dealing with people, not just buildings.”
