Stu Gordon, Director
Stu has extensive experience in residential and commercial project management, construction, quantity surveying and general management. As a licensed building practitioner and former Registered Master Builder, Stu brings a practical approach to project management, a pedantic eye for quality and a strong commitment to customer service.
Having overseen the completion of hundreds of residential builds, as well as the roll out of the ‘big box’ Bunning’s Warehouse retail stores, Stu is uniquely placed to provide high quality full service damage assessment and general project management services to a wide range of clients.
Hugh Chapman, General Manager (Operations)
Hugh has also achieved success in a number of commercial ventures, including owning and developing a vineyard in the Waipara region. Seeing the need for industry consolidation Hugh was instrumental in forming Southern Boundary Wines, a company which brought together over 100 hectares of vineyards in the Waipara and Marlborough regions.
Murray James, Manager (Finance, Strategy and Planning)
A former Chartered Accountant and business manager, Murray brings to his role 15 years of experience in the building industry. Having managed both a national residential construction company, and a smaller local building concern, Murray is well versed in contract negotiation, employment relations customer service and dispute resolution.
Murray has considerable experience in management and financial reporting, as well as being a ‘hands on’ member of the Maiden team, with practical experience in residential Quantity Surveying, quoting and costing.
Bob Tidd, Consents and Contracts Manager
Bob is a highly experienced Contracts Manager and former Territorial Authority building official who began his career as a building designer and Building Consultant. A current member of the Building Officials Institute of New Zealand (BOINZ), Bob has recent experience as an earthquake recovery Contracts Supervisor with Fletcher EQR.
Through his involvement as a Building Official for several councils as a Team and technical leader, auditor and trainer, Along with Building consultant investigations he has received and given specialised training in weathertightness issues.
Bob has extensive knowledge of the consents and contracts management process, as well as building Legislation and technical investigation/trouble shooting along with repair methodology.
Graham Ryken, Senior Project Manager
Graham is a trade qualified builder and licensed building practitioner with extensive project management experience in industrial, commercial and residential construction. Having recently completed an 18 month stint as an EQC assessor, Graham is well placed to head up Maiden’s construction and project management division, a role which allows him to renew his commitment to supporting the Christchurch rebuild.
Graham is a Level 1 Health and Safety representative and an NZQA registered ‘All Trades’ assessor, giving him the experience and ability to steer apprentices of any trade discipline through to the completion of their trade qualification.
Maiden Group worked quickly and efficiently, and completed the fit out to an excellent standard
