Opting Out of EQC

Many people have grown frustrated with the EQC managed claims and repairs process. Inevitable delays, frustrating phone calls and inconsistent contractor standards have simply added to the burden that we all face, in restoring a level of normality to our lives.

So why should it have to be this hard? Why should home owners have to fight tooth and nail to prove that essential repairs are in fact essential? The answer is that they don’t – they can simply opt out, and take back control of the repair process.

Benefits of Opting Out

When you opt out of the EQC process, you no longer have to risk being assigned a tradesperson who may or may not provide an acceptable level of build quality and customer satisfaction.

Opting out of the EQR process with Maiden Group allows you to establish a positive and productive working relationship with a friendly, professional organisation that is dedicated to working for and with you through every aspect of the rebuild process.

Risks of Opting Out

Recent media coverage has suggested that home owners who opt out of the EQR process will be ‘left out in the cold’ to manage everything themselves, and will face substantial risks in completing the repair and rebuild process.

This is simply untrue. At Maiden Construction we offer a full service approach to EQR opt out that starts with identifying and working through every aspect of the planning and rebuilding process. In the majority of cases, where there is little or no foundation damage to the property, the potential risks can be easily identified and mitigated through an effective planning process.

How to Opt Out

Anyone who owns a property that has had a full EQC assessment valued between $10,000 and $100,000 can opt out of the Fletcher’s managed EQR programme. Opting out is free, and the process is straightforward – simply contact us on 0800 40 44 40, and we can arrange and prepare the appropriate documentation.
